With the exploding cost of gasoline worldwide, the reality of driving "less than optimum gas mileage vehicles" has been rammed home for all of us. However, as recently exposed by Popular Mechanics magazine, we have more than enough oil reserves right here in our own country to last us for decades. So why are we forced to import the majority of our oil used and getting raped by even higher than necessary oil prices? Easy. Tree hugging liberals have blocked every attempt to increase domestic drilling for the last couple of decades. They've also blocked building ANY new oil refineries to increase our output of gasoline. Their pet "solutions" to the "global warming farce" include extolling the virtues of switching to alternative fuels such as ethanol; which if implemented, will result in even higher food costs and shortages because there's not enough acreage in America to grow enough corn to meet half our current energy needs. But they don't let simple math stand in their way.
